Terms of Service
Last updated: May 4, 2026.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Dossier AI mobile application, website, and related services (“Dossier AI,” “the App,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, installing, creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What Dossier AI Is
Dossier AI is a personal AI memory tool designed to help you capture, organize, and retrieve your thoughts, notes, people context, projects, decisions, and open loops. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, emergency service, legal advisor, financial advisor, therapist, professional counselor, employment advisor, compliance system, or substitute for professional judgment of any kind.
2. AI Accuracy
The App uses artificial intelligence to transcribe, extract, summarize, classify, search, and respond to your content. AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased, unsafe, or misleading. It may omit context, invent details, misunderstand names or relationships, or surface the wrong memory. You should independently verify any information before relying on it for important decisions. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, legality, safety, or reliability of AI-generated content.
3. Your Content and License to Operate the App
You keep ownership of the content you submit to Dossier AI. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, process, analyze, display, and create technical or derived outputs from your content as needed to provide, secure, support, improve, and operate the App, subject to our Privacy Policy and AI Processing Disclosure. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for backups, logs, legal records, provider-retention limits, aggregated/derived data, and training or improvement artifacts that cannot reasonably be removed.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit, record, upload, and process your content, including information about other people. Dossier AI is a private memory tool, not a permission slip to record, surveil, defame, disclose confidential information, or violate anyone's privacy, employment, intellectual-property, or contractual rights.
4. Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the content you upload, record, or otherwise provide to the App.
- You must not use the App for anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, or that infringes the rights of others.
- You are responsible for your decisions and actions based on App content or AI-generated output.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must comply with all recording, consent, confidentiality, employment, privacy, export-control, and data-protection laws that apply to your use of the App.
- You must not submit protected health information, payment card numbers, government identifiers, passwords, secrets, or other highly sensitive information unless you understand and accept the risks of AI and provider processing.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
The App offers optional paid subscriptions (“Dossier Plus”). On Android, subscriptions are purchased, billed, renewed, cancelled, refunded, and managed through Google Play and are governed by Google Play’s terms in addition to these Terms. We do not provide external purchase links in the App. Subscription details, including pricing, auto-renewal, cancellation, restores, and deletion effects, are described on our Subscription Help page.
Deleting your Dossier AI account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. You must cancel through Google Play to stop future charges. If your subscription payment fails, is refunded, is cancelled, or cannot be verified, we may downgrade or remove paid entitlements.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Upload content that is defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, exploitative, invasive of privacy, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.
- Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or reverse-engineer the App or its infrastructure.
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or extract data from the App.
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App without our permission.
- Use the App to create malware, facilitate abuse, stalk, harass, impersonate, profile people unlawfully, make eligibility decisions, or make decisions that legally require human review.
- Probe, scan, overload, bypass usage limits, exploit, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data, APIs, providers, billing systems, or infrastructure.
7. Account, Availability, and Changes
You need an account to use the App. We may add, remove, limit, suspend, modify, or discontinue features, models, providers, usage limits, prices, plans, or availability at any time, subject to applicable law and Google Play requirements. Some features depend on third-party providers, network connectivity, device permissions, Google Play, Supabase, AI providers, and other services outside our direct control.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if required by law or provider policy, if payment or entitlement verification fails, or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to us, other users, providers, infrastructure, or third parties. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by following the instructions on our Account and Data Deletion page.
9. Third-Party Services
The App depends on third-party services for authentication, hosting, storage, transcription, OCR, AI processing, embeddings, push notifications, diagnostics, subscriptions, and payments. Your use of those features may be subject to third-party terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party outages, errors, billing decisions, retention practices, model behavior, or policy changes.
10. Privacy and AI Processing
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy and AI Processing Disclosure. AI processing is central to the App. If you do not want your content processed by AI service providers, do not use features that require AI processing.
11. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. AI-generated output is provided for convenience only and carries no warranty of accuracy.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the App. Our total liability for any claim arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Dossier AI harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights or applicable law.
14. Consumer Rights
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, exclusions, or limitations. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer rights, statutory warranties, or remedies required by applicable law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
