Account & Data Deletion
Last updated: May 4, 2026.
You can delete your Dossier AI account and associated data at any time. This page explains how to request deletion from inside the App or from the web, as required for apps that allow account creation.
1. In-App Deletion
The recommended method is through the App itself:
- Open Dossier AI and navigate to Settings.
- Select Delete Account.
- Follow the on-screen confirmation steps. The App will ask you to confirm your intent before proceeding.
Once confirmed, your account will be scheduled for deletion. You will be logged out and will no longer be able to access the App with that account.
2. External Request
If you cannot access the App (for example, if you no longer have the device or cannot log in), you may request deletion by contacting us:
- Email: service@dossierai.ca
- Subject line: “Account Deletion Request”
- Include the email address associated with your account so we can verify your request.
We may ask you to verify control of the account email address before deleting data. We cannot delete an account based on an unverified request.
3. What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove account-associated app data from our systems. This includes:
- Your account profile and credentials
- All briefs, transcripts, and uploaded files
- Chat and Debrief conversation history
- Derived data: extracted entities, embeddings, memory records, people, projects, decisions, and open loops
- Preferences, settings, and push tokens
- Subscription and purchase records (subject to retention obligations to Google Play)
- Metadata-only operational records associated with your account where deletion is technically and legally available
4. What May Be Retained
We may keep limited records beyond the deletion date where:
- Required by applicable law or regulation.
- Necessary to enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes.
- Residual backups or logs still exist within our retention cycle (these are overwritten as part of normal operations).
- Google Play, RevenueCat, AI providers, hosting providers, or other service providers retain records under their own security, billing, abuse-prevention, backup, tax, or legal obligations.
- Data has already been used in aggregated, derived, or model-training artifacts that cannot reasonably be separated from the artifact.
5. Completion Timeline
Account and data deletion is generally completed within 30 days of your confirmed request. In some cases, deletion may take longer due to operational constraints or provider dependencies. We will notify you at the email address on file once deletion is complete.
6. Third-Party Provider Retention
Some of your data may have been processed by third-party service providers (for example, AI processing, transcription, and hosting services). We make reasonable efforts to delete your data from provider systems, but individual providers may have their own retention schedules or backup cycles that are outside our direct control. See our Privacy Policy and AI Processing Disclosure for more information.
7. Subscription Cancellation Is Separate
Deleting your Dossier AI account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. To stop future charges, cancel your subscription in Google Play. See Subscription Help for instructions.
8. Cancelling a Deletion Request
If you change your mind, contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that a deletion in progress can be reversed, but we will make reasonable efforts to stop it if you contact us promptly.
